Golden Friday

Happy Golden Friday everyone. First things first. We received 2 awards this week and we are going to proudly display them in this post.

Golden Friday

Samantha blogging today. I really like to put things in my mouth. When mommy and daddy get home from work, I will hurry up grab my toy or my towel or dad's socks from the laundry basket and greet them at the door. When they wake up in the morning, I will do the same. Somtimes I grab a shoe. When we have guests, I will greet them with a pair of socks or a shoe or my towel.

When I'm not greeting them, I still do the same, like when I'm just laying down in the snow or hanging out in the living room. Sometimes I even go to sleep with my toy in my mouth!

Mom said it must be a "Golden" thing(gotta have something in the mouth) because June doesn't do this at all. She is part Golden but maybe her Husky side doesn't do that?

So does any one else do the same thing I do? I would really like to know. Is it really a "Golden" thing or other doggie breeds do that too?

Almost there!

Getting there...I'm 1 day closer to eating my very first home grown strawberry! I'm so excited!

Golden Friday

We have a complain about our mom this week. Just because we love to swim in the lake or pool or lay in the muddy puddle, it doesn't mean that we like to take a bath. For some reason she thinks that we love water, so we must love to take a bath. No no no, we don't like baths. We do get yummy treats after our baths but we still don't like it. Then each time after our baths, she will try to brush our teeth, don't like that either! Look at what she did to us last weekend:

Here's how she normally does it:

- She fills the bathtub about 1/4 way with water then she calls our names. We always wonder who she'll call first and hoping that she will give up after the first one but no, when she's done with one, she'll call the next one.

- We have to put our front paws in the tub then she'll lift our back legs in the tub.

- When she's done bathing us she will say "shake shake" and we'll have to shake off the water in the tub.

- Then it's towel time(Samantha: the only thing I like about bathtime is towel time. I like to bite the towels and try to grab the towels from her)

- When towel time is over, she'll open the door and we just run out of the bathroom like a crazy banshee and then run around the house(Samantha: I will normally grab the towel from her and ran out) (June: If she forgot to close the bedroom door, I would jump up and lay in her bed!)

So how often does your human give you a bath? Do you like taking a bath? Do you get any treats after that?

Do you know that when I see that you have little tomatoes on your tomato plants or little peppers on your pepper plants I get very jealous?
Do you also know that when I see that your potato plants are this tall(making a gesture with my hand), I wonder when will mine get to be that tall?

Everything has been planted in the garden. This year is my first time trying heirloom tomatoes, so I really can't wait to try them. Now you know that I have started my seeds about 2 months ago and I have got quite a few heirloom tomato varieties. Unfortunately 2 out of my 3 trays of seedlings were destroyed. No, the dogs didn't do it. It was my own fault and I won't get into the details. The 2 destroyed trays contained mostly my tomatoes. I was so bumped! :(

Luckyly there were some heirloom tomatoes in the 3rd tray and the local nursery sells some heirloom varieties as well.

So here's a new list of what's in the garden:

Tomatoes: These are the ones I started from seeds - Yellow Pear, Cherokee Purple, Beef Master. These were purchased from the nursery - Hungarian Hearts, Roma, Sugar Snack, Celebrity & Pink Red. Then I found out that I had some volunteer seeds from the old garden so I dug them up and transplanted them in the new garden. Who knows what those would be? Last year I had some hybrids, it would be really interesting to find out what they are!

Corn: Honey and Cream - this is my first time planting corn.

Zukes: Cue Ball - these are the cute round ones.

Cukes: Northern Pickling and I also found some volunteer seeds. I just left them be and see what I get later in the season.

Winter Squash: Sweet Dumpling, first time trying these.

Potatoes: Norland Dark Red and Yukon Gold.

Eggplant: Thai Yellow Egg, free seeds from Baker Creek.

Hot Peppers: Jalapeno and Italian Pepperoncini.

Cabbage & Cauliflower: first time planting these and I don't know what variety these are.

Broccoli: My co-worker bought too many for her garden so she gave me 2 plants.

Onions: Yellow Stuttgutter

Asian Veggies: Bok Choy and Napa Cabbage

Garlic: German Extra Hardy (In old garden area)

Lettuce: Mesclun Mix (In old garden area)

Strawberries: Ozark, Robinson & Quinault (In old garden area)

Carrots: Purple Haze

Herbs: Parsley, Basil, Rosemary & Oregano

Sorry I have not taken anymore pictures of my garden.
