Thank you all for your suggestions and advice on how to handle the pet-sitting situation. I talked to Jack's dad about having to keep an eye out on him when he is around. I told him about the fence section that was bent and that I don't want to see Jack escape from the yard. That's kinda like my round-about way to tell him that he needs to supervise Jack when he comes over and not leave Jack in my yard. That's how I left it and yesterday he was over with Jack and he stayed to watch him. Hopefully this will keep up. I'm not trying to be a bitch but it is not my responsibility to look after someone else's dog when I am not pet-sitting.

We are also going to try to "go out" on some Friday nights for a few weeks. When I first agreed to petsit Pepper, she was still young and new. He said that Pepper freaks out when the band starts to play. It has been a month now and it's time for the puppy to get used to the band playing. What's going to happen when she gets older?

I know we are in a tough situation. We have good relationship with our neighbors and we know that if there is an emergency and we have to be at the hospital for overnight or something like that, Jack's dad will come over and take care of the girls for us. So we have to be careful of how we handle this situation so that it won't turn sour.

Mom babysat our friends last Tuesday when their daddy went out of town with our daddy and their mommy was away on vacation.

Meet Xena the Bull Mastiff pup and Beatrice the bulldog

Samantha: She's got my toy!

June loves the tile floor in there and Xena loves the spot between the wall and the toilet.

Beatrice just went in there to join the gang.

Samantha is not there because she is anti-social.

Note from mom: This was what Samantha did to Xena all day long. She would growl and show her fangs but she did not once bite Xena. I don't really like that she does that because I don't want her to hurt her or any other puppies(by the way she didn't do that to Beatrice). I know older dogs just don't like when puppies get in-their-face but should I do something? Should I worry? Knowing that we have a little one coming, I just don't want Samantha to be aggressive(and she is not an aggressive dog). I kept telling her no. I know when dogs play bitey-face, they get rough but this is different. Any suggestions anyone?

p/s: I also told Samantha that when Xena gets to be 150 Lbs. she will probably kick her ass!

Hi furfriends and human friends. Sorry about mom's Wordless Wednesday post and left efuryone "hanging".
Withour further delay, let us introduce to you our new furfriend - Pepper! Pepper is Jack's little sister. Jack's dad adopted her from Adirondack Save-A-Stray a few weeks ago. Mom has been puppy-sitting fur 2 Fridays because Jack's dad has a band that plays on Friday night and it's a little too loud fur the pup. Jack can be left outside unsupervised but Pepper is too little to be left alone outside. Mom said now Jack's dad would have to get a 3rd dog and name him Cheese and he'll have Pepper Jack Cheese! LOL!!!
I, June, loves playing wif Pepper. She is fury fun to play wif but sometimes I get a little carried away and mom would yell at me to calm down and be gentle. I know I'm a big girl and Pepper is still little but what's a dog to do when she gets so excited?
My sister Samantha on the other hand is a little jealous. She's a grumpy old dog. Sometimes she growls at Pepper, so of course mom would yell at her for doing so. She wouldn't play with Pepper at all.

Samantha: You stay ofur there on your side and I'll stay here

Samantha: Ma, why is this thing here again?

June: Wanna play?

June: I'm big, you're small

Golden Friday (Please Give Dakota A Chance)

I'm posting Golden Friday today.

I realize this post might be controversial but still I chose to post it because in my mind I think Dakota should be given a chance.

Here's a summarized version of the story but you can read the full story here or here . I'm sure some of you may have already heard this news about this family dog named Dakota who had taken a newborn baby from his crib and the baby is now in critical condition. The baby's father said that Dakota snatched the baby from his crib and went into the woods. The baby had a cracked skull and cracked ribs and had one collapsed lung and one partially collapsed lung. The dog is being quarantined at the Jessamine County SAVE Center in Nicholasville, awaiting decision from authorities.

The baby's father has said he does not want Dakota destroyed. He said she cannot return to their home, and he hopes someone will adopt her. He also said that Dakota has NO previous signs of aggression.

So, I really hope the authorities will investigate thoroughly before jumping in conclusion and just destroy the dog. If Dakota has no previous aggression, there has to be a reason why she grab the baby from the crib. Perhaps she was trying to comfort a crying baby? Who knows? She will most definitely not suitable to be adopted by a family with children but there are other families out there who might be able to give her a home. We know we certainly will adopt her in a heartbeat.

Any suggestions of what we can try to do to gave Dakota a chance?
