Cabin Camping

Woof friends, long time no sniff. My mom is such a bad blogger, she hasn't been blogging or helping me with visiting my furfriends. Thank you to all my friends who asked about me and my surgery. I am all recovered now. The test came back just fine, it's a low grade mast. So we will just have to keep an eye on it if it grows again. Otherwise I am all good.

Last weekend we went to a cabin by the river. We had a very relaxing time. On the way up dad stopped at a smokehouse and got me a big bone to chew on. Yummerz! Not sure why but mom didn't let me swim in the river at all this time. Maybe because getting down to it is quite rocky and she had her hands full getting my brofur safely down to the river. 

Mom and dad also found this little lake tucked away off of a trail. They wanted to fish there but we were attacked by tons of bugs that we left quickly. Not quick enough though because I was covered and chewed up.

Hamburglar

My name is June and I am a Hamburglar. What is a Hamburglar? You ask. Well it's hamburger burglar. Dad has been calling me this name since last Frieday because I stole my brofur's hamburger from the dining table. I don't normally do such things but it just smell so good and I had to taste it... mmmm...

Hello - Goodbye

2013 is on the way out and 2014 is on the way in.

Another year has come and gone. It has been a blah year for us, nothing really spetacular. We have our family, we have our health, we have each other, so there is nothing to complain.

So I will leave you with some 2013 snow pictures. Our 2013 snow is almost gone now, hopefully we will get some 2014 snow soon. :)

An Apple A Day....

"An apple a day, keeps the doctor away", we all have heard of this quote. Well, I for one cannot eat fresh apple, so that won't work for me. I am allergic to raw apples but thank goodness I can still eat cooked apples, therefore I am always looking for ways to "cook" apples, especially making it into desserts.

I was checking up on some blogs and saw this post at Bakers' Banter: Apple-picking time: our top-pick apple treats: Blog

King Arthur Flour. Let me tell you, if you love apple desserts, you NEED to go on over and check it out. You won't regret it.

These are the ones that I want to make:

1) Old-fashioned Apple cake with Brown Sugar frosting

2) Apple upside-down cake

3) Roasted Apple bread
4) Easy Whole Wheat Apple Raisin Bread
5) Apple Muffins

We also went apple picking last weekend and picked about 20 lbs of apples! I started baking right away, making Apple Crisp.

I thought I would share it with you all. I don't remember what was so interesting outside that made the three of them looked out the window at the same time at the moment but I sure am glad that I took this picture.

Missing You...

It has been almost 3 weeks now since Samantha's crossing over to the Rainbow Bridge. We are all missing her very much.
Our 17-mo-old boy is learning to talk and is trying to say some words but they don't always sound like the words. Yesterday hubby turned the laptop on and Samantha's picture is the desktop background. Baby boy pointed right at the laptop and said "nana nana". Hubby and I looked at each other and tears just started coming out of our eyes...
June is doing ok. We know she is missing her sisfur as well. We have been spending as much time with her as possible. I must admit, with the born of our son, I felt like the dogs had been negleted at time. With Samantha's passing, I made a promise that I will not keep making excuses that I don't have much time for my dogs. I will take time out and make time to spend with June.

Where have I been? It seems like it has been a while since I last posted. It has also been a while since I posted something about my garden. My garden is doing great this year. It has been a hot and dry summer. Here are some pictures:

Golden Friday

Dear furfriends and friends,

Please keep your paws and fingers crossed fur my sister Samantha. She woke mommy up at 2am Thursday morning and then on 5am to go out to pee. She kept peeing and peeing. Mom took a sample from her Thursday evening and saw a little bit of blood. Friday morning she again woke mom up at around 4am. Mom took another sample this morning and it doesn't have blood. Mom dropped off both samples at the vet this morning. Mom has been giving her some yogurt and Apple Cider Vinegar but seeing blood makes her worry. Hopefully it's nothing major.

This Sunday is Valentine's day and we would like to wish daddy and mommy Happy Valentine's Day! These pictures below were taken on Valentine's day last year.

This Sunday is also Chinese New Year day. We would like to wish our friends Mochi and Sugar and their families Gong Xi Fa Chai(in Mandarin) and Gung Hay Fat Choy(in Cantonese).
