My birthday was a couple of Saturdays ago and my wonderful husband gave me this KitchenAid stand mixer as a birthday present! First of all my apology to my dear husband for not posting this exciting news sooner, like as soon as when I got it. Second of all, I apologise to my dear blogger friends for not sharing this great news with you sooner.

I have been wanting one for a long long time. Each year around Christmas time places like Kohls and Linen n' Things would advertise on these and I have mentioned that perhaps I should get one while they're on sale and hubby would say "Ya, why not?". But each year I would tell myself that's just another spending, I can still use my handheld mixer and give all kinds of excuses not to buy it.

Now, if you remember from last month in one of my Friday Fill-Ins posts(you can read it here), I mentioned that birthdays are not a big deal in our household. It is true. We don't normally make a big fuss about our birthdays, just a simple "Happy Birthday honey" and a cake is usually what we do. But this time hubby thought he would surpirse me with a great gift and he also threw me a birthday party!!! OMG! I have not had a birthday party(for myself) like in ages....let's see...the last birthday party I had for myself was 12 years ago when I turned 21!

So, with this new toy of mine, I promise I'll post some recipes very very soon. :-)

Vent and Rant Wednesday

Here we go, it's Vent and Rant Wednesday, time for me and for you to get your frastration out. Tell me what's bugging you, who makes you mad, what's been bothering you....just remember one thing: please keep all your venting/ranting at G or PG rating.

Well, mine this week has to do with my pet peeves. Now, I don't really have many pet peeves but this really bugs the crap out of me. It happens almost everday at work(I'm glad it doesn't happen at home): people leaving empty papertowel roll or toiletpaper roll on the holder or empty half & half carton in the fridge. OMG, these are all adults I work with but yet some of them acts like little kids! It's not hard to just take out the empty roll and put in a new one...no, they just walk away. There are many time I just felt like putting up a sign saying "Please be courteous and change the roll when it's empty!" or put in a hidden camera to catch who's doing it.

Friday Fill-Ins

1. Oh, I can't wait until I have a bigger garden next year.

2. Gallons of tea is the first thing I see when I open my refrigerator.

3. I never leave home without my purse.

4. If I were a condiment, I would be salsa because it's hot & spicy.

5. Leaving an empty roll of papertowel/toiletpaper without changing it, is really high up on my list of pet peeves.

6. The last thing I thought of before I went to bed was "ahh, tomorrow is Friday".

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to just doing absolutely nothing, tomorrow my plans include picking more black and red raspberries and Sunday, I want to make a batch of red raspberry jam!

Vent & Rant Wednesday

I have decided to start this "Vent & Rant Wednesday" mainly because everyone needs a place to vent or rant once in a while or in this case once a week. So dear readers, if you have something to vent or rant, please feel free to do so in the comment.

I do, however, have a requirement: please keep all your venting/ranting at G or at least PG rating. I would like to vent at R-rating but I won't, mainly because I know a lot of my readers have little ones or will be having little ones at home. So, I would greatly appreciate it if you would please refrain from using any foul language.

My vent for this week:
I dislike rich snobs!!! They think just because they are richer than someone else, they have the rights to belittle or look down at others. It really bugs we when someone does that.
To rich snobs: So what you have more money than me? So what your car or cars are bigger and newer than mine? So what if your house is the biggest in the neighborhood? It doesn't mean a thing to me! All I know is that your attitude towards others stinks and you probably have the smallest heart in the entire neighborhood!!!

Back to work again....

I guess it's back to the grind again...I was back yesterday but my mind wasn't, therefore no posting from yesterday.

Here's the run-down of what we did on Friday: We woke up a little later than usual, around 8am I think. The girls wanted to go out, so I had to get up and take them for a walk. Then it was house cleaning time, you know the usual, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bathroom, laundry, cleaning the kitchen counter and the stove...BORING.....and where was hubby this whole time?

After putting up the pool, they fenced it in to keep the girls out. Now, don't think for one second that the girls are being leftout. Nope, mommy always take care of her girls. They got their own little kiddie pool, so that they could do this too:

I also managed to find time during my "such busy" day to make a batch of black raspberry jam. I only made 1 batch of 8 8oz. jars. I did take a picture of the jam but I don't have the picture ready yet. You see, we don't own a digital camera....SAY WHAT???? You are probably thinking "how could someone in this day and age not own a digital camera?" Well, we don't take a lot of pictures, so we have been putting off to buy one. I promise, as soon as I get those pictures developed from my "old-fashion" camera, I will post them.

Oh, not forgetting the cordial...I did make a small batch of black raspberry cordial. I used a 32 oz. mason jar for this. Now the recipe that I had printed out called for a pound of raspberries and 3 cups of 80 proof vodka. Well, I didn't have that much raspberry or vodka left. So I just sorta put whatever I had left in the jar. It's about half full. Now I have to wait 3-4 weeks then filter out the berries and add sugar and wait some more...at least 6 months to be exact. Let the waiting game begin....

As for the rest of the weekend, there wasn't much going on.

Just wanted to wish everyone a safe and wonderful Fourth of July!

I will be spending my July 4th with hubby, my girls and hubby's nephew, just relaxin' & chillin'.

On the menu will be:

Hickory Smoked BBQ Ribs, Home Fries, Tortellini Salad and

for dessert, Cinnamon Buns.

Sometime this weekend I'll be canning up some Black Raspberry Jam and perhaps try making, for my first time, Raspberry Cordial.

Amazing Grace

Everyone, please meet Grace, my little niece. She is my sister Rebecca's first born and she is my parents first grandchild.

I have not have a chance to meet this little bundle of joy yet. I am hoping I will get to meet her soon. My sister had sent me many photos of her. I just love seeing her sweet little face and her many different facial expressions! Oh I love her so much!
