This and That

Where have I been? It seems like it has been a while since I last posted. It has also been a while since I posted something about my garden. My garden is doing great this year. It has been a hot and dry summer. Here are some pictures:

Do you know that in 4 months time my little one will be here? It is a boy! Here is a picture of him. I probably won't be posting many pictures of him mainly because hubby is not very fond of the idea about posting kid's pictures on the internet, therefore I must respect his wishes.

Thank you all for your suggestions and advice on how to handle the pet-sitting situation. I talked to Jack's dad about having to keep an eye out on him when he is around. I told him about the fence section that was bent and that I don't want to see Jack escape from the yard. That's kinda like my round-about way to tell him that he needs to supervise Jack when he comes over and not leave Jack in my yard. That's how I left it and yesterday he was over with Jack and he stayed to watch him. Hopefully this will keep up. I'm not trying to be a bitch but it is not my responsibility to look after someone else's dog when I am not pet-sitting.

We are also going to try to "go out" on some Friday nights for a few weeks. When I first agreed to petsit Pepper, she was still young and new. He said that Pepper freaks out when the band starts to play. It has been a month now and it's time for the puppy to get used to the band playing. What's going to happen when she gets older?

I know we are in a tough situation. We have good relationship with our neighbors and we know that if there is an emergency and we have to be at the hospital for overnight or something like that, Jack's dad will come over and take care of the girls for us. So we have to be careful of how we handle this situation so that it won't turn sour.

I will try to update everyone of the outcome. Thank you again.

Random

This is sorta a rant/vent kinda post. I has been bugging me so I thought I would mention it and would like to get your thoughts on it.

If you remember about my post from about a month ago about Pepper and Jack, my neighbor's dogs. You see I have been petsitting Pepper & Jack every Friday since she came. Now don't get me wrong, I love dogs and I don't mind petsitting but petsitting(especially a puppy who isn't quite housetrained yet) every Friday for about 4 hours is getting a little much. Friday evenings are the end of a work week for hubby and I and somedays we would just like to be in the comfort of our home to relax with our girls. I just thought that my neighbor should start training Pepper at a young age to get her used to the music(his band plays in his basement every Friday night).

Another thing is regarding Jack. He has been bringing Jack over to our yard every other day sometimes everyday and leaving him in our yard for at least an hour or so. Now Jack recognize my truck so when I get home from work he just cries and barks wanting to come over but Jack doesn't really want to come over to play with June or Sam. He is so fixated on birds/birds shadows/chipmunks that he is constantly chasing them around and also digging. But he is digging in our yard. Because of the length of time he leaves Jack in our yard, we can't possible stay outside with him at all times. That time is when I need to get dinner ready. Hubby had mentioned to the neighbor that Jack has been digging in our yard and the respond he got was:"well that's what Jack does." I also have a section of fence that is a little bent over(it doesn't have the top support) and I noticed that Jack has been jumping on it. I just don't want him to accidentally jump out of the fence and dissapear but like I said, I cannot be outside to supervise him at all times especially when I'm not even asked to petsit because he was just left in our yard. I don't mind if the neighbor brings Jack and Pepper over to let them play with the girls for 20-30 minutes. What I do mind is when he just leaves them there and he would go back to his house. I just really don't know how to handle this situation.

Special Golden Friday on Tuesday

Today is our furfriend Sugar's barkday and she is having a pawty! We are going to pawty wif her like no tomorrow.
So let's get the pawty started:
Furst, we are going to have some all-you-can-eat barkday breakfast buffet. On the menu are: Sweet potato muffins(we know how much Sugar loves sweet potatoes), booberry pancakes, bacon(pork & turkey), scrambled eggs and yogurt(yes, it's good fur us doggies too, help our digestive tract).

After the big breakfast, we are going to take a RIDE up to our favorite camping spot at Fish Creek Pond Campground. On the way up we will make a few stops to take breaks and have some yummy treats like Frosty Paws: Watermelon Prairie Berrie & Cheesy Minty Dog Biscuits. Once at the campground we'll be doing some hiking, swimming, playing with frisbee, zoomies, and if our friend Sierra comes along, she can even teach us how to go fur a canoe ride! When we get tired, we can do some snoozing and recharge our "batteries".

Dinner time at the lake, of course it's a sunset all-you-can-eat dinner with lots of yummy food like grilled turkey, K-9-Ingredient Meatballs by Rachel Ray and our favorite spaghetti, steak, chicken, roasted sweet potatoes and grilled carrots.

After dinner we will all watch the stars in the sky and enjoy some Carrot Barkday Cake.

Had to pick the corn while they are still small-ish. Birds kept eating them. I do not know that birds will actually peel away the husk to get to the corn!!! I know they have to eat too but sheesh, eat the zucchinis(which I have plenty) and not my corn, damnit!
